REA Group Loses CIO

September 15, 2008 by Simon Baker

In news today, it has been reported that Chris Vulovic, the CIO of the REA Group, has left the business.   The search has commenced for a new CIO.

Chris joined the REA Group in 2003. Since joining the Group, she has been instrumental in building the business, focusing on developing a strong technology team, delivering high quality, scalable and robust technology, and working with the acquisitions to integrate their technology into the REA Group.

Most recently she was driving the REA Group Platform project that was designed to migrate all the legacy platforms (from the REA Group acquisitions) to a common, scalable, global platform.

Her departure follows on from the recent departure from the CEO, Simon Baker. (Click here)

Simon, It’s a bit like Wayne Bennett leaving the Brisbane Broncos (Australian Rugby League team) after so many successful years at the helm. When a great coach leaves it’s almost a given that the existing players and management teams will struggle to adapt.

In the corporate world it appears to be a little bit more ruthless.

One thing REA will need to keep an eye on, (just like the Brisbane Broncos will) is that they look after their fans.
